An evening spent watching a war film side by side with my brother-in-law.
The conversation turns to the oddly comic, yet strangely realistic question of which part of the body one would lose first.
Before long, the boundaries begin to dissolve, as memory and the present, perpetration and survival, love and violence quietly bleed into one another.
